Aherm, again I am in need of something better to do, so i will put up some more lore here! This was whole area was for putting up lore threads, so i can just as good fill them out! I think this time i will cover the Old Gods! That we like.
The Old Gods where the rulers of Azeroth before the Titans arrived. The elementals where their servants, and along with the Gods other forces spread destruction and chaos on the young world.
It is speculated that there exists 5 Old Gods on Azeroth, C'thun and Yogg'saron is the only confirmed yet, though there is two new possible Old Gods coming with Cataclysm, can´t remember their name at the moment though.
When the Titans and their Pantheon arrived, they saw the potential of the young world, but the Old Gods influence had to be stopped. The Titans waged war on the Old Gods and their Elemental liatuents, and banished the Elements into a seprate plane of their own, wich was tied to Azeroth.
They found out that the Old Gods was working as Parasites on the world, and would be unable to be killed, as that would affect the world. Instead they created several prisons for the Gods deep under the wolrds surface. For example Ulduar for Yogg'saron, and possible Ahn'qiraj for C'thun (Can´t remember with C'thun though). They didn´t have to move the Gods, just pacify them and make the prisons, with the exception of C'thun, who they where forced to move, so they picked him from Tanaris, and litterally threw him into Silithus.
When this was done, and the world had been restored to peace, the Pantheon and Titans left, thinking the planet was safe. And it was, for some time, before the Old Gods influence began working, the first was C'thuns race of insectnoid creatures the Silithid and Qiraji with whom he began to wage war on the thriving world. This worked for some time, the Night Elves answered the call to arms and rushed to battle, but the Silithid and Qirajis number was overwhelming, and the Night Elves almost lost the battle, they where pushed from the gates of Ahn'qiraj to Un'goro, but they somehow managed to keep their land there, while the Elves asked for help from the Dragons. They at first said no, but when groups of Silithid managed to get into Tanaris they took up arms and helped the elves to fight them back into Ahn'qiraj and sealed the city off.
The next sign was in Northrend by Yogg'saron, whose influence had infected most of the continent, after he curropted the titanic watchers that should act as his prisoners and wardens. Saronite, the main resource of the Scourge, is called the Black Blood of Yogg'saron, and can possible be dried blood from him? The most significant shows of Yoggs corruption is in Grizzly Hills, where he have infected the Furbolgs and made them blood crazy berserkers fighting for a tree log. Also Whisper Gulch in the Howling Fjord and the Saronite Mines in Icecrown have Explorers stated that it´s possible to hear a maddening voice inside your head.
Yogg'saron was defeated by Brann Bronzebeard, the Kirin Tor and a group of Adventurers from Northrend.
Think that is all that there is to cover of Old Gods at the moment, like last time, come discuss and ask here, and i will try help out and clarify what i said! ^^ Oh yeah! Do note, that adventurers have never actually killed an Old God, but merely hurt it, or pacified it, we haven´t been able to kill them, and we shouldn´t, as that would destroy the world!
